Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in schools, supporting literacy, math, attendance, and positive behavior. You will plan and monitor individual student progress, work with teachers on classroom support, and participate in school-wide initiatives.

Training is provided, and you will be part of a team dedicated to helping students thrive. This full-time AmeriCorps position includes a bi-weekly living stipend and location-specific benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to plan and monitor progress for individuals and small groups.
• Strong communication with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities.
• Develop behavior management strategies in collaboration with teachers.
• Foster interpersonal skills through daily learning activities and reflection.
• Collect and monitor student progress using City Year data systems.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space in partnership with teachers.
• Support after-school and enrichment programs for students and families.
