Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle, and/or high schools to promote academic success and positive behaviors. Training is provided, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff throughout the year.

You will support literacy and math activities, help track progress, and contribute to whole-class instruction and student programs, all within a structured AmeriCorps service role.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year will be provided.
• Ability to work with teachers and students to support academic and behavioral goals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic achievement and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support classroom instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement in-class support and student assistance activities.
• Support extended day and after-school programs and student clubs.
