Job summary

City Year is seeking a Student success coach and mentor as part of the AmeriCorps program in California. You will coach and mentor students, track progress, and partner with teachers to support academic achievement and positive behaviors.

The role includes 2-4 weeks of initial training, working with teachers and school staff, and providing targeted literacy/math support and program activities to boost engagement.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to support academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and assist teachers with classroom activities.
• Create engaging, safe learning spaces and support school-wide initiatives.
