Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as tutors and mentors in schools, supporting students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior while assisting teachers. Training is provided at the start of the year to support you as you begin.

You will engage with elementary to high school students, plan progress, and participate in school-wide activities. This role is ideal for individuals seeking service, skill-building, and community impact with City Year.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident for work eligibility.
• Age 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, some college or degree.
• Start City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor identified students 1:1 and in small groups to boost academic success.
• Plan and monitor student progress; work with teachers on instruction and class activities.
• Create a positive classroom environment and collaborate with staff to support student development.
