Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior, while partnering with teachers and school staff to support classroom instruction.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year. This entry-level, full-time AmeriCorps role focuses on elementary to high school students across participating schools, with benefits and a structured program.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. Training provided at start of year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and report data.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Support extended day and virtual programs for students and families.
• Create engaging, safe learning spaces in collaboration with teachers.
