Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary to high school settings, helping students improve academics, attendance, and behavior. You will monitor progress, support teachers, and contribute to a safe, engaging classroom environment.

Join City Year as a full-time AmeriCorps member, with 2–4 weeks of initial training, and participate in a broad range of school-wide initiatives and enrichment activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year.
• Be willing to work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.
• Commitment to coaching and mentoring at elementary, middle and/or high school levels.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and monitor student progress.
