Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member in the United States supports student success by coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school levels. You will track individual progress, assist teachers with in-class strategies, and contribute to whole-school engagement efforts.

The role begins with 2-4 weeks of training, followed by ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff. This entry-level, full-time program offers a stipend, benefits, and placement in various City Year locations.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Age 17-25 by July 1, 2025; completion of or currently pursuing high school diploma or GED.
• Commitment to City Year AmeriCorps terms and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic coaching and mentorship
• Support literacy and math skill-building with varied activities by student level
• Help develop positive behaviors and attendance through classroom strategies
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and contribute to reviews
