Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to boost academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in school. You will plan and monitor progress and work with teachers on in-class instruction to support the whole school.

The program provides 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to help students grow and succeed in elementary, middle, or high school settings.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space with the teacher
• Support after-school and enrichment activities
