Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students in elementary to high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support.

The role includes 2–4 weeks of initial training and you’ll work with partner teachers and school staff to support students and whole-class initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.
• Work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.

Responsibilities

• Coaches and mentors students 1:1 and in small groups to improve academic outcomes.
• Develops literacy and math activities tailored to student levels and supports assignment completion.
• Creates a positive, engaging classroom space in collaboration with teachers.
