Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary to high school settings. As an entry-level, paid, full-time role, you will coach and mentor students, collaborate with teachers, and support classroom initiatives to improve attendance and academics.

You will participate in training and work with partner staff to monitor student progress, plan targeted activities, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Willingness to participate in 2-4 weeks of training at the start of the year.
• Collaborating with teachers and school staff to support student progress.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to student levels.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and data in City Year’s system.
• Support engaging classroom spaces and school-wide initiatives.
