Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Lead Test Engineer to drive testing, commissioning, validation, and integration of protection and control systems across transmission, distribution and generation substations. You will mentor field engineers and ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with utility standards and POWERX philosophy.

The role requires knowledge of relay protection, IEC 61850, SCADA, RTUs, and test platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning is required.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent relay platforms is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; additional endorsements are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation across substations.
• Perform relay protection testing using industry platforms (SEL, GE Enervista, Omicron).
• Mentor Test Engineers in field execution and system understanding.
• Ensure testing aligns with utility standards, NETA practices, and IEEE guidance.
• Coordinate testing activities with clients and operations personnel.
