Job summary

POWERX seeks a P&C Lead Test Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, validation, and integration of protection and control systems across transmission, distribution, and generation substations. You will mentor field engineers and ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with utility standards and POWERX philosophy.

This role requires deep knowledge of relay protection, IEC 61850 communications, SCADA integration, and testing across energized substations up to 500kV.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent relay platforms.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations.
• Review relay settings, logic diagrams, and panel layouts for accuracy and constructability.
• Develop test plans, energization plans, and JHAs, ensuring alignment with standards and client requirements.
• Lead crews with professionalism and mentor developing Test Engineers.
• Maintain commissioning documentation, test records, and client turnover packages.
