Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Lead Test Engineer to oversee testing, commissioning, validation, and operational integration of protection and control systems across transmission, distribution, and generation substations.

You will lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients to ensure safe, reliable operation and adherence to utility standards and POWERX commissioning philosophy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in high-voltage protection & control testing.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse or equivalent relay platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; associate degree acceptable.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience commissioning substations 12.5kV–765kV preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation across substations.
• Serve as field technical interface between POWERX and the client.
• Develop test plans, energization plans, and commissioning procedures.
• Ensure testing aligns with utility standards, IEEE guidance, and client requirements.
