Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Test Engineer II to join our team in Texas. The role focuses on executing commissioning and testing scopes under supervision, expanding toward system-level understanding, and advancing protection testing proficiency.

You will work with relay protection systems, breaker controls, CT/VT circuits, and substation testing across distribution and transmission substations up to 765 kV, while growing through POWERX Academy training and field mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology is required or preferred.
• Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field is acceptable.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Execute relay protection testing tasks under Senior or Lead oversight using assigned platforms.
• Perform CT/VT testing, breaker control circuit testing, and wiring diagram navigation with accurate documentation.
• Read one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and cable schedules to support testing.
• Maintain test records, redlines, and daily reports with attention to detail and safety requirements.
• Support and participate in pre-job briefs, tailboards, and post-job reviews.
• Escalate safety concerns and adapt to outage schedules and travel as needed.
