Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Test Engineer II to perform relay protection testing, CT/VT checks, and breaker control tests on distribution and transmission substations up to 765kV. You will work under Senior or Lead engineers, growing independence and technical depth while ensuring accurate test records and compliance with NETA and client requirements.

The role supports commissioning projects across protection schemes, relay platforms, and switchgear, with a focus on developing from component-level

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in high‑voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Familiar with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent relay platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 245kV preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned relay protection testing tasks under supervision.
• Perform test planning and prepare isolation plans with Senior or Lead review.
• Read one‑lines, diagrams, and wiring schedules with accuracy.
• Document results, redlines, and daily reports.
• Support turnover documentation and commissioning packages.
• Travel to substations as required and maintain safety standards.
