Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Test Engineer II to develop from component tasks toward independent system-level understanding. You will execute relay protection tests, CT/VT work, and breaker control testing under Senior guidance, with a focus on safety and quality in substations up to 765 kV.

You will engage in test planning, documentation, and cross-functional teamwork, participating in POWERX Academy training and progressing toward Senior level while supporting commissioning projects across

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in high-voltage protection testing and commissioning.
• Familiar with protection relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred; Associate degree acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Execute relay protection testing tasks under Senior or Lead oversight.
• Read one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts with confidence.
• Perform CT/VT testing including ratio, polarity, and grounding verification.
• Execute breaker control circuit testing and verify trip paths and auxiliary contacts.
• Maintain complete test records, redlines, and daily reports.
• Support commissioning projects up to distribution and transmission substations to 765 kV.
