Job summary

POWERX seeks a P&C Lead Test Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, validation and integration of protection and control systems across substations. You will guide field teams, ensure safety, and deliver turnkey verification per utility standards and POWERX philosophy.

You will mentor engineers, develop test plans, and coordinate with clients, engineering, and operations to ensure reliable, safe and compliant system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; associate degree accepted with experience.
• Minimum 3+ years in high-voltage protection and control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with major relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse).
• Knowledge of NEC/OSHA safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation of protection and control systems.
• Coordinate field execution with project management, engineering, and client operations.
• Develop test plans, isolation and energization procedures, and JHAs.
• Mentor Test Engineers and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Document results, produce reports, and manage turnover to clients.
