Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Lead Test Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, validation, and integration of protection and control systems across transmission, distribution, and generation substations. You will mentor field engineers and ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with utility standards.

The role requires deep knowledge of relay protection, SCADA, IEC 61850, and hands‑on testing in energized substations up to 500kV, with strong client communication and project turnover

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in high‑voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with relay protection platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational validation activities across transmission, distribution, and generation substations.
• Develop test plans, isolation plans, energization plans, commissioning procedures, and JHA/HPI mitigation plans.
• Mentor developing Test Engineers and coordinate field execution with project management, engineering, construction, and client operations.
• Ensure all testing aligns with utility standards, NETA practices, IEEE guidance, and client‑specific commissioning requirements.
