Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Lead Test Engineer to drive testing, commissioning, validation, and operational integration of protection and control systems across substations. You will guide technical teams and mentor junior engineers, ensuring safety and IEEE-compliant performance.

Lead coordination with clients, perform advanced relay testing, and oversee SCADA/IEC 61850 networks, RTUs, and telecom interfaces up to 500kV. A BS degree and HV experience required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in high-voltage protection and control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with major relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; OSHA/NEC familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing, commissioning, and validation of protection and control systems across substations.
• Develop test plans, energization procedures, and turnover documentation.
• Mentor junior Test Engineers and coordinate field execution with client operations.
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, IEEE guidance, and NETA practices.
