Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Lead Test Engineer to lead protection and control testing, commissioning, and validation across substations up to 500kV. You will guide field mentors, align with utility standards, and ensure safe, reliable operation per design intent.

This role requires in-depth relay knowledge, experience with major relay platforms, and strong leadership in high-pressure environments, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse or equivalent relay platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• OSHA 30 and NEC/IEEE guidance familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation across substations.
• Develop test plans, energization plans, and JHAs for field work.
• Mentor Test Engineers and ensure client turnover with accurate reports.
• Ensure testing aligns with utility standards, NETA practices, and SOPs.
