Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking a Community Technician for the Blue Sky program. This full-time role involves working across day, evening, and overnight shifts to maintain a safe residential environment for individuals experiencing homelessness.

The position emphasizes trauma-informed engagement, crisis de-escalation, and supportive documentation. The technician will perform rounds, screen residents, provide basic emergency support, and assist with meals and logistics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
