Bowery Residents' Committee in New York, NY seeks a Community Technician to provide a stable, supportive presence for residents experiencing homelessness. You will respond to crises, monitor safety, and assist with daily operations on a 24/7 schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
