Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. in Manhattan, NY is seeking a Community Technician for the East Side. This full-time, overnight role runs Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am as part of a 24/7 program with mandatory overtime.

You will help maintain a safe residential environment, engage residents with trauma‑informed techniques, and respond to crises while completing documentation and supporting facility operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Willingness to obtain required certifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de‑escalation techniques
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided)
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes)
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep
