Bowery Residents' Committee in New York seeks a Community Technician to provide a calm, safety-focused presence for individuals experiencing homelessness. You’ll monitor rounds, screen residents, assist with meals and escorts, and document incidents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed techniques and de-escalation.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan) with training provided.
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
