Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking an Oven Operator for our Aurora facility on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–3:00 AM). The role supports production through oven start-ups, quality checks, and process improvements. You will work within GMP guidelines and with QA to maintain product quality.

We look for 6 months to 1 year in food manufacturing, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to perform basic math. Shift flexibility and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing setting.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and measurements.
• Flexibility to work various hours and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks and contributing to process and operations improvement.
• Follow GMPs, safety and work instructions.
• Advise Production Supervisor/Lead or QA inspector of any quality or process issues affecting production.
• Maintain area cleanliness and regular housekeeping during shift.
• Understand the company's food allergen program.
• Start up ovens and adjust flames, injector head and speed to meet quality expectations.
• Perform changeovers with minimal downtime.
• Identify and report oven issues to Lead/Supervisor.
• Complete operator training for ovens as needed.
• Aim to keep waste at 5% or less.
• Input SPC data and interpret quality metrics.
• Distinguish good quality from poor quality.
• Communicate quality or equipment issues to mixers, leads, and QA.
• Troubleshoot and report product or machine failures promptly.
• Follow Steven Charles quality standards, SQF, HACCP and GMP procedures.
• Promote team collaboration and quality mindset.
