Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking an Oven Operator for the Aurora facility on 2nd shift (3:00 PM-3:00 AM). The role pays $17.60 per hour and involves starting and adjusting ovens, ensuring quality, and maintaining a clean, compliant work area.

You will follow GMPs, HACCP and SQF standards, participate in changeovers, training, and waste reduction while supporting production goals in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in food manufacturing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Flexible to work various hours and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks and process improvements.
• Follow GMPs, safety and work instructions.
• Inform Production Supervisor/Lead or QA inspector of quality or efficiency issues.
• Maintain cleanliness of the area and perform housekeeping during shift.
• Understand the food allergen program.
• Start up ovens and adjust flames, injector head and speed for required quality.
• Perform changeovers with minimal downtime.
• Recognize when ovens are not working properly and notify Lead/Supervisor.
• Train others to operate ovens.
• Maintain waste at 5% or less.
• Understand SPC and input data.
• Distinguish good quality from poor quality.
• Communicate issues with mixers, leads, QA.
• Troubleshoot and report product or machine failures.
• Comply with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices.
