Job summary

Carter Lumber – Kight Home Center division is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage post-sale relationships, and track customer usage and trends.

Responsibilities include site visits, keeping schedules, and applying proven sales strategies with commission-based upside.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Find and complete sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each sold job and relationship, tracking product use and trends.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules.
• Communicate effectively and follow through on commitments to customers.
