Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services and manage the relationship after closure.

You’ll visit job sites, collect data, update records, and keep projects on schedule while coordinating with internal teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales (B2B) or outside sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and create material takeoffs.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to travel to sites and meet customers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sell Carter Lumber's full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage ongoing relationships after a sale and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Visit job sites, collect accurate information, and update customer records regularly.
• Maintain schedules and respond rapidly to customer needs, inquiries, and issues.
