Job summary

Carter Lumber seeks an Outside Sales Representative to develop and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers while selling our full line of building materials and installed services.

You will manage projects after sale, keep up with product trends, visit job sites as needed, and coordinate with internal teams for timely service. Commission-based compensation fuels growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales and client relationship management.
• Knowledge of home building basics and materials.
• Ability to create material estimates/quotes and manage special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly cadence.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Ability to work independently with strong planning.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each sold project and maintain ongoing relationships with customers.
• Visit job sites as needed and keep information on product use and trends up to date.
• Coordinate with yard, dispatch, and management to ensure timely deliveries and service.
