Job summary

Kight Home Center, a division of Carter Lumber, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell the full line of building materials and installed services, manage ongoing jobs, and expand the customer base with effective follow-through.

Commission-based pay drives earnings in a growth-focused, family-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each job and the relationship after sale.
• Collect and update information on customers’ product use and trends.
• Visit job sites as needed, maintain schedules, and address issues.
• Apply proven sales strategies and strong communication to succeed.
