Brown University Health in Fall River, MA is seeking a Scheduler to plan, organize and execute outpatient bookings while maintaining the nursing station environment.

The role requires scheduling experience, medical terminology knowledge, and strong data entry skills. You will handle bookings, cancellations, pre-registrations, and provide prompt answers to inquiries, collaborating with patients and MD offices to ensure timely, accurate scheduling.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in scheduling or a related field such as registration.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Keyboard/Data entry experience.
• Is cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect and compassion.
• Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.

Responsabilités

• Accurately takes bookings for outpatient services.
• Chooses the correct test(s) and gathers all necessary patient information, requesting the booking.
• Processes cancellations and rescheduling quickly and accurately.
• Records MD orders received, comparing written orders with the test booked and resolves discrepancies.
• Responds quickly to booking problems identified by patient, clinical areas, and MD offices.
• Completes patient pre-registrations for last minute bookings.
• Provides accurate and timely answers to inquiries from patients, MD offices, or other hospital areas.
• Manages time and resources to complete duties efficiently.
• Completes work assignments within an acceptable time frame.
• Develops and maintains efficient working relationships.
