Brown University Health is seeking a Scheduler to support the nursing station by handling bookings, registrations and patient inquiries. The role emphasizes accuracy, courtesy and timely communication in a busy outpatient setting at Saint Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA.

Work hours are M-F 8:30am-5:00pm with day shift. Candidates should have scheduling experience, medical terminology knowledge and strong data-entry skills, and must uphold the organization’s Compassion, Accountability, Respect,

Qualifications

• Previous experience in scheduling or registration.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Is cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect and compassion.
• Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.
• Responds to requests in a timely manner.
• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and inservices and/or reviews documentation as required.
• Assists in the orientation of others and actively participates in mentoring.
• Performs analytical and decision making functions with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Accurately takes bookings for outpatient services.
• Chooses the correct test(s) and gathers all necessary patient information from the source, requesting the booking.
• Processes cancellations and rescheduling quickly and accurately.
• Records MD orders received, comparing written orders with the test booked and immediately resolves any discrepancies.
• Responds quickly to any booking problems identified by patient, clinical areas, and/or MD offices.
• Completes patient pre-registrations for last minute bookings.
• Provides accurate and timely answers to all inquiries, whether from patients, MD offices, or other hospital areas.
