Job summary

UCSF Medical Center is seeking a Practice Coordinator to serve as the public face of the Practice and to support operations, customer service recovery, and cross-functional coordination. The role includes handling CRM messages, telephone encounters, referrals, and billing while maintaining efficient clerical workflows.

The position requires strong computer skills, excellent customer service and communication abilities, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with four years related experience; or college degree and 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successfully passes fingerprinting protocol and is approved to be a cash collector if applicable.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple patient records systems; able to sit at a computer terminal with telephone headphones for extended periods.
• Ability to analyze situations, prioritize, develop solutions and make recommendations.
• Excellent customer service and communication/interpersonal skills, both over the telephone and directly.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical practice terminology.

Responsibilities

• Represent the administrative team as the public face of the Practice and support practice operations and customer service recovery.
• Provide support to all admin functions including CRM messages, telephone encounters, referrals, and billing.
• Maintain routine clerical operations and communications in line with UCSF standards.
• Synthesize knowledge of practice operations to problem-solve and facilitate complex transactions.
• Coordinate with clinical and management teams to ensure smooth information flow between departments.
