Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking an OSP Field Engineer to perform on-site validation of telecom network designs, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber layouts. The role requires 3+ years in fiber/telecom construction, GIS proficiency, and the ability to travel across multiple sites.

The incumbent will document facilities, measure configurations, and collaborate with engineering teams, while adhering to safety standards and using field tools. A valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and Make-ready issues.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Familiar with GIS, ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
• Able to read digital GIS maps and layout drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document detailed information of required facilities.
• Capture accurate measurements of attachments and distances.
• Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information.
• Deliver detailed field notes and photographs to the engineering team.
• Identify obstructions and propose mitigation strategies.
• Read and interpret GIS maps and layout drawings.
• Use tools such as measuring wheels, GPS devices, and rangefinders.
• Travel to various sites and work on site.
