Job summary

Pearce is hiring an OSP Field Engineer to collect telecommunications field data, validate fiber network layouts, and support engineering teams across multiple sites in North America. The role emphasizes accurate field measurements, map reading, and coordination with project teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fiber/telecom construction, GIS knowledge, and a valid driver's license. Expect travel up to multiple states, on-site work, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and Make-ready issues
• Ability to read as‑build prints and identify conflicts
• Familiar with GIS/ESRI/shapefile functionality
• Able to identify utilities, conflicts, and regulatory violations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD a plus
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; pass background check

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document facilities and infrastructure
• Take accurate measurements of heights, spans, and distances to centerlines and property lines
• Identify power/communication facilities and pole ownership
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor details
• Deliver field notes and photos to engineering team
• Identify obstructions and propose mitigation strategies
• Read GIS maps and conduit/layout drawings
• Use tools (measuring wheels, height sticks, GPS, etc.)
• Operate electronic devices for field data collection
