Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking an OSP Field Engineer to support on-site validation of fiber networks, including aerial, buried, and underground layouts. You will collect detailed field data, take measurements, and coordinate with engineering teams to mitigate obstructions and optimize routes.

The role requires 3+ years in fiber/telecom construction, GIS familiarity, and a valid driver’s license. Occasional travel across states with potential long assignments is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
• Ability to read and understand as-built prints, and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document detailed information of facilities, including cables, poles, handholes, and other OSP infrastructure.
• Measure attachment heights, span distances, and centerline distances for proposed layouts.
• Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information; deliver field notes and photos to engineers.
• Read and interpret digital GIS maps, conduit records, and layout drawings; assist desktop teams.
