Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Seattle is seeking an OS&D Clerk to investigate overages, shortages, and damaged freight, including Hazmat materials. You will work with service center operations, safety, and customer care teams to resolve issues and maintain accurate records.

The role requires knowledge of LTL operations, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations. Some lifting and night/alternate scheduling may be required in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general LTL operations and OS&D processes.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
• Willing to wear boots/safety footwear.
• Able to work in fast-paced, high-stress environment with multiple priorities.
• Experience with billing, pricing, tracing, dispatching, weights and inspection helpful.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve overages, shortages, and damaged freight issues including Hazmat materials.
• Assist in identifying freight for high value shortages and determining shipment/PRO.
• Collaborate with Service Center Operations, Regional OS&D/Customer Care Specialist, Safety, Compliance, Security, and Corporate Operations.
• Resolve customer queries regarding shipping orders, pricing, etc.
• Maintain count lists and verify against bill of lading; report discrepancies.
• Prepare paperwork and repack OS&D freight; maintain accurate daily/weekly records for management.
• Monitor OS&D emails and respond as needed; use systems like EDock, Customer Portals, and Pega.
• Coach and train less experienced clerical staff; provide on-the-job training as needed.
• Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs.; comply with all policies; work night or alternate schedules as needed.
