Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking an OS&D Clerk to investigate overages, shortages and damaged freight including Hazmat materials. You will identify freight groupings, work with multiple departments, answer customer inquiries, and keep precise records.

The role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position involves lifting up to 70 lbs, wearing safety footwear, and occasional night or alternate schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of general LTL operations; OS&D exp is a plus
• Willingness to wear boots/safety footwear
• Familiar with customer care, billing, pricing, tracing, dispatching, weights and inspection
• Computer skills: MS Word, Outlook and Excel; AS400 preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to read/listen effectively
• Able to work in fast-paced, high-stress environment with multiple priorities
• Capable of working independently or in a team; meet deadlines; flexible schedule

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve all overages, shortages, and damaged freight issues, including Hazmat Materials
• Identify freight for high value shortages and determine shipment/PRO grouping
• Collaborate with Service Center Operations, OS&D/Customer Care, Safety, Compliance & Field Support, Security, and Corporate Operations
• Resolve customer queries regarding shipping orders and pricing
• Maintain count lists and verify against bill of lading; record discrepancies
• Prepare paperwork and repack OS&D freight; maintain daily/weekly records for management
• Monitor OS&D emails and respond as needed; report issues to management
• Utilize software like EDock, Customer Portals, and Pega for operations
• Coach less experienced staff and provide on-the-job training
