Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Baltimore seeks an OS&D Clerk to investigate all overages, shortages and damaged freight, including Hazmat. You’ll work with Service Center Operations, Safety, Compliance and Security teams to resolve customer questions and maintain shipping records.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, AS400 knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Night or alternate schedules may be required with notice.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable in general LTL operations; OS&D experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with multiple priorities.
• Willing to wear safety footwear and lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve all overages, shortages, and damaged freight issues.
• Identify freight for high value shortages and determine shipment belonging.
• Coordinate with Service Center Operations, OS&D, Safety, Compliance, Security, and Corporate teams.
• Resolve customer queries regarding shipping orders, pricing, etc.
• Maintain count lists and reconcile with bills of lading.
• Prepare paperwork and repack OS&D freight.
• Maintain records and report OS&D issues daily/weekly to management.
• Review freight issues and address reports assigned by management.
• Keep OS&D area clean and organized and monitor related emails.
• Utilize software/tools (EDock, Customer Portals, Pega, etc.).
• Coach and guide junior staff; provide on-the-job training as needed.
• Work may require night or alternate schedules with proper notification.
