Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking an OS&D Clerk to investigate overages, shortages, and damaged freight, including Hazmat, and to assist with identifying freight belonging to specific shipments. You will work with Service Center Operations, Safety, Compliance, and Customer Care teams to resolve queries and maintain accurate records.

The role requires strong customer service, MS Office and AS400 experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background
• Knowledge of general LTL operations; OS&D experience preferred
• Willing to wear boots/safety footwear
• Knowledge of customer care, billing, pricing, tracing, dispatching, weights and inspection
• Computer skills; proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
• AS400 experience strongly preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills
• Able to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environment with multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Able to meet deadlines and follow safety guidelines
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve overages, shortages, and damaged freight including Hazmat Materials
• Identify freight for high-value shortages and determine shipment/PRO they belong to
• Collaborate with Service Center Operations, Regional OS&D/Customer Care Specialist, Safety, Compliance & Field Support, Security, and Corporate Operations
• Assist with resolving customer queries regarding shipping orders and pricing
• Maintain count list of items received or shipped and check against bill of lading
• Prepare documentation and repack OS&D freight
• Maintain records and report OS&D issues to service center management
• Review and address freight issues and reports as assigned by management
• Maintain clean OS&D area and perform OS&D functions
• Monitor OS&D emails and respond as necessary
• Utilize software such as EDock, Customer Portals, Pega, etc.
• Mentor less experienced clerical staff; provide on-the-job training
• Provide guidance to staff on how to perform activities
• Demonstrate regular attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
