Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the clinical team with initial testing and to help deliver a world class Total Patient Experience. This role works with optical equipment to prepare patients for exams with an Optometrist.

The position requires a calm, reliable communicator who can handle devices such as lensometers, autorefractors, keratometers, and retinal cameras. A strong emphasis on HIPAA and patient privacy is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.
• Favorable result on background check as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
• Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
• Practice urgency at all times placing value on a patient’s time, as well as the doctor’s time and schedule
• Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT
• Follow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)
• Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
• Interact courteously with all levels of staff
• General office duties and cleaning as assigned
• Create a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused
• Commitment to work hours that meet the needs of the business which may include weekends
