Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in patient care and education. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary patient evaluations, handling referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and supporting clerical duties in medical documentation. Part-time, on-site, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (e.g., dilation, topical medications, diagnostic tests).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experience.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
