Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists across patient care and education. You will conduct pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient experiences from start to finish.

Responsibilities include patient preprocessing, scheduling referrals, maintaining HIPAA‑compliant records, and assisting with EHR documentation. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical meds, diagnostic tests, and visual acuity checks.
• Schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists and other specialists as needed, and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications, treatments, and scheduling.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings and communications in the EHR; assist with related clerical duties.
