Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists with patient care and education, ensuring a high-quality clinical experience from check-in through post-exam steps.

You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields), manage scheduling, and help with documentation in the EHR system while maintaining HIPAA compliance and strong patient communication.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR in compliance with HIPAA.

Skills
