Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostics, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient, patient-centered experiences.

You may perform additional duties such as scribes, refractions, and clerical tasks while maintaining accurate medical records in an HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification required.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Conduct verbal interview with patient to determine medical issues for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork as needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document findings in EHR and assist with clerical duties.
