Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our eye-care team and support the Optometrists with pre-testing, testing, and patient education to ensure a high-quality experience from start to finish.

You will perform preliminary evaluations, help schedule referrals, and maintain precise EHR records while assisting with clerical tasks. HIPAA awareness and strong communication are essential in a fast-paced practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records per HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist with pre-testing procedures and post-exam tasks.
• Conduct preliminary evaluations and document findings in the EHR.
• Schedule referrals and manage the doctor’s appointment calendar.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries and reschedule appointments as needed.
• Operate diagnostic testing equipment as required.
• Support clerical duties and ensure accurate medical documentation.
