Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and patient care across the exam workflow. You’ll perform pre‑testing, assist with specialty testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient, high‑quality visits.

Responsibilities include patient interviews, recordkeeping in the EHR, medication inquiries, and potential referrals. Strong HIPAA understanding and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations and pre‑testing procedures prior to exam.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule and post‑exam tasks.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR per HIPAA and policy guidelines.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork as needed.
• Assist with end‑of‑day wrap‑up and maintain work area cleanliness.
