Job summary

AEG in the United States is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors, prepare patients for exams, and ensure a smooth, high-quality visit. You will conduct pre-exam testing, assist with diagnostic procedures, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to maximize patient care.

Maintain HIPAA-compliant records in the EHR, assist with clerical tasks, and provide patient education on eye care. Join a team that values collaboration, learning, and delivering excellent results for every patient.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patient records under HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Schedule and manage the doctor’s appointment calendar to optimize patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR per HIPAA and policies.
• Handle patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
