Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support our eye care team and enhance patient experiences. You will assist with pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and post-exam tasks, while coordinating schedules and maintaining patient records in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Responsibilities include pre-exam evaluations, assisting with OCT and other tests, communicating with patients, and helping doctors with exams.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with eye treatment terminology and procedures.
• Experience maintaining patient records under HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-exam testing and patient interviews before eye exams.
• Assist with specialty testing (e.g., OCT, visual fields) and post-exam tasks.
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR and schedule appointments.
• Support the Optometrist and scribe as needed.
• Provide patient education and help with clerical duties.
