AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors and education, ensuring exceptional patient care from start to finish. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with specialty diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for a smooth patient experience.

The role involves documenting medical findings in EHR, coordinating referrals, and performing related clerical duties while upholding HIPAA policies. A strong team player with attention to detail will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment as needed.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork.
• Maintain patient records and HIPAA-compliant documentation.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications or treatments.
• Assist with end-of-day tasks and clinic operations.
• Support scribe duties for the Optometrist and assist with refractions.
